Be prepared for the seemingly inevitable stain on your summer light outfit or fashion emergency on a trip. These are the essentials you need to slip in your purse or luggage. Just in case. First thing is to get a small bag (an unused makeup case will do fine). Many of these items below are available at drug stores or big box stores. It is handy to have the packets in bulk to replenish your kit, if needed. Into the bag put the following:
- Stain wipes (a pen or packets) for a quick dab of the stains.
- Travel sewing kit. The alternative is to create one with a threaded needle stuck through a 3×5 card (or other thick paper) plus a few safety pins. Fold the paper over to create a match book type closure and secure with a piece of tape.
- Fashion tape. These are great for hems and small tears. You can purchase these in multi packs. Just toss a few into your kit and replace as needed.
- A pair of undies. These are indispensable if accidents do occur. A thong or bikini style that will be less bulky in a small bag is best.
